Range Rovers are often seen as a dream for many. However, one retired couple’s dream quickly turned into a nightmare, and the victims have warned others against purchasing the Range Rover Evoque that’s at the centre of their problems.
Trevor and Ann Heley splashed out £44,400 on what they thought was going to be a reliable car given the reputation Range Rovers have. However, after owning it for two years, they say they have had enough of the problems that have reportedly come with the vehicle.
The issues that the couple have reported include:
Trevor and Ann have taken drastic measures by plastering posters on their 4×4 stating:
“Range Rover Evoque – this is the worst car purchase I have ever made. Be warned!”
This comes from the frustration of the couple and the reported lack of help from Huddersfield-based Rocar Moores Land Rover dealership. They see this as the only alternative.
Trevor said the decision to place signs on their 4×4 wasn’t an easy one:
“…we feel embarrassed about admitting we own a vehicle that we are so dissatisfied with.”
Trevor continues so say he had no other choice as they cannot come to an “amicable agreement with Jaguar Land Rover or their dealer”.
It seems Land Rover has lost two customers, as Trevor states that he has lost all faith with the Evoque and Jaguar Land Rover. But are they alone? Are there others out there having the same kinds of problems? At this stage, we do not know; but if this is something more widespread, our lawyers might have to get on the case.
The couple are so dissatisfied that they’ve planned to list the 4×4 on eBay for a ‘reasonable’ price. It’s shocking how after forking out such a large investment they’re seemingly forced to sell the vehicle for perhaps a fraction of what they paid for it.
A spokeswoman for Jaguar Land Rover said:
“…at this stage the case with Mr and Mrs Heley is currently active. Our executive team have been working for some time to draw this to a satisfactory close. Until the case is closed we cannot comment any further, however we are working hard to resolve this.”
We’ll be keeping an eye on other reports of problems with the vehicles – if there are any. If any patterns emerge, we may investigate the problems.
