Ever since the news of the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal broke in 2015, we have been investigating allegations that several other carmakers may also have engaged in the use of potentially deceitful practices by allegedly deploying defeat devices to cheat emissions tests. Porsche is one such car manufacturer that we are looking into, and with Volkswagen as its parent company, we have reason to believe that Porsche vehicles may also be associated with emissions irregularities. We have already taken on many clients for Porsche emissions compensation claims, and we continue to take action for people affected now.
Many vehicle owners may have been affected, and it could be revealed that their cars were producing illegal levels of NOx emissions without their knowledge. If this is found to be the case, Porsche could be held liable for a breach of your consumer rights, meaning that they may have to pay out thousands of pounds in compensation to each of the affected owners.
Although there may be hundreds or thousands of owners who have been affected, you can only access compensation if you sign-up to claim before any court deadlines are imposed. This is why we urge anyone who thinks that they may be affected to start their claim ASAP, and you can use our simple online sign-up form to find out if you are eligible to claim now.
Porsche and the Volkswagen emissions scandal
When the Volkswagen emissions scandal broke in 2015, it was alleged that the carmaker has used defeat devices in their cars in order to cheat emissions tests. A defeat device can essentially constitute as software that could allow a vehicle to decrease emissions output during testing, but could allow the outputs to rise above regulatory levels during real-world driving.
We were one of the first law firms to formally bring claims against Volkswagen on a No Win, No Fee basis, and our efforts are helping to bring the company to justice. The High Court litigation made a determination that Volkswagen did use unlawful “defeat devices”, and we anticipate that Porsche may have also been impacted by the activities of its owner.
A wide-reaching Porsche vehicle recall has already been issued, with software updates that could affect vehicle performance. Many complaints to this effect were made after VW made emissions software updates to their affected models, so we expect the same may be said for Porsche models.
Claiming for Porsche emissions compensation
As we continue to take action for people pursuing Porsche emissions compensation claims with us, there has never been a better time to claim. We encourage any new claimants who have yet to claim to come forward and register as soon as possible.
The vehicles we suspect may be affected include Porsche Cayenne, Panamera and Macan diesel vehicles, fitted with EA897, EA898 and 4.2l V8 engines, among others.
It is unacceptable for any car manufacturer to breach emissions regulations, and to breach their consumer rights by selling cars on a deceitful basis, where this has occurred. As a result, in cases where the CPUT applies (Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations), victims could be able to recover compensation amounting to somewhere between 25% to 100% of the price of their vehicle, where allegations are found to be true.
