As expected, the Volkswagen claim deadline has triggered a huge wave of new enquires trying to start their case before the cut-off point.
We always have made a real point of the fact that Claimants MUST start their case as soon as they can. There’s no point in waiting until the last minute, and those who do risk missing out entirely.
Our office phone lines have been ringing off the hook over the last few weeks. Enquiry numbers have skyrocketed. The reason is the looming deadline; a deadline that expires today.
The 26th October 2018 Volkswagen claim deadline has arrived. Those who have yet to have formally joined the case against VW are now looking at missing out.
We’ve been warning about the deadline for quite some time now. We’ve been reminding the tentative new enquirers that time is of the essence. Despite the warnings and the media attention, there are still many people who have left claiming until the last minute. Or, have left it too late to claim at all.
The Volkswagen claim deadline is today. Those who have not already locked themselves into the action may now face significant challenges in obtaining compensation as a victim of the emissions scandal.
If you have missed the Volkswagen claim deadline, the outcome will likely be the same as missing any other group action deadline.
We still – in 2018 – receive enquiries for victims of the PIP Breast Implant litigation that we’ve recovered over £1.3m in damages for. The court deadline for that action closed in 2013. Five years on we’re still receiving enquires. Some of the PIP cases settled for between £20,000.00 and £30,000.00. That’s a serious amount of money to lose for not starting your claim in time. Sadly, all we can do is turn those people away.
Although the official Volkswagen claim deadline for the court is today, our cut-off for accepting new cases actually finished last week. This is a necessary policy many law firms will enact because we need to make sure the clients we do have are ready in time.
If you’re reading this and you’ve missed the Volkswagen claim deadline then we, at the moment, cannot assist.
All we can advise is that you try and find out if any other law firms are still accepting cases, and keep an eye out for news in the press.
Ultimately, you may have missed tour opportunity to claim.
